Consultant Critical Care

Stafmed is currently recruiting a highly experienced Consultant Critical Care for an exciting full-time position with a leading hospital in the UAE.

About the Role

We are seeking a distinguished Consultant Critical Care with extensive experience in managing critically ill patients with complex and life-threatening conditions. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive critical care, including advanced patient assessment, management of organ dysfunction, and coordination of multidisciplinary treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients with complex and life-threatening conditions

• Provide comprehensive intensive care management for patients with acute and severe illnesses

• Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, and neurological support

• Monitor and manage patients with multi-organ dysfunction and critical illness

• Provide advanced airway management and mechanical ventilation when required

• Manage sepsis, septic shock, acute respiratory failure, and other critical conditions

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and patient needs

• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including emergency medicine, surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, nursing, and allied health professionals

• Provide specialist critical care consultations across appropriate hospital settings

• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives

• Contribute to the development and implementation of critical care protocols, pathways, and clinical standards

• Support medical education, training, and professional development within the department

Qualifications

• Board certification in Critical Care Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, or equivalent recognised qualification

• Recognised Tier 1 qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Critical Care / Intensive Care Medicine

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP

Required Skills

• Extensive experience in the management of critically ill patients

• Strong expertise in advanced critical care and organ support

• Experience managing complex cases involving multi-organ dysfunction

• Strong knowledge of mechanical ventilation, sepsis management, and hemodynamic support

• Excellent clinical decision-making and leadership skills

• Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills

• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity clinical environment

• Commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and continuous quality improvement
