Job Description
The Consultant in ENT (Otolaryngology) is responsible for providing high-quality, specialized ear, nose, and throat care within both physical clinic and digital care settings. The role focuses on the comprehensive assessment, accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up management of acute and chronic ENT conditions through evidence-based clinical practice. The Consultant ENT ensures patient-centred care, clinical excellence, and patient safety while contributing to quality improvement and the strategic development of ENT services across virtual and in-person care delivery at Bupa CareConnect.
Specialized Assessment and Diagnosis
- Conduct comprehensive ENT assessments through in-person and virtual consultation settings
- Diagnose acute and chronic ENT conditions using evidence-based clinical approaches and investigations
- Interpret imaging, laboratory results, and audiological or vestibular test findings
- Recommend and coordinate appropriate referrals and advanced investigations when required
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EMR system
Management and Treatment Planning
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment and follow-up plans for ENT patients
- Provide medical and procedural management for a wide range of ENT conditions
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinical needs evolve
- Educate patients regarding their conditions, preventive care, and treatment adherence expectations
- Coordinate continuity of care across physical and digital care settings
Clinical Quality and Safe Practice
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance requirements, telemedicine regulations, and patient safety standards
- Adhere to institutional protocols and international ENT clinical guidelines
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and peer review processes
- Report, analyze, and manage clinical incidents and adverse events appropriately
- Support compliance with CBAHI, JCI, SCFHS, and applicable accreditation standards
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including internal medicine, radiology, and allied health
- Coordinate referrals and continuity of patient care with internal and external specialists
- Participate in MDT case discussions and clinical meetings
- Provide specialist support, second opinions, and clinical guidance to other healthcare providers
Patient Experience And Satisfaction
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered ENT care with clarity and empathy
- Address patient concerns promptly and ensure clear communication about diagnoses and management options
- Promote patient education and engagement in their own care and preventive health
- Support organizational initiatives aimed at improving patient experience and Net Promoter Scores (NPS)
Professional Development and Leadership
- Maintain active SCFHS licensure and comply with all CME requirements
- Stay updated with advancements in ENT clinical practice, surgical techniques, and healthcare technologies
- Mentor junior physicians and support the professional development of the medical team
- Contribute to organizational strategic and operational goals of the ENT service
Skills
- Comprehensive ENT diagnostic skills including endoscopy, audiometry, vestibular testing, and imaging interpretation
- Medical and procedural management of acute and chronic ear, nose, and throat conditions
- Proficiency in both outpatient clinic and telemedicine ENT practice
- Proficiency in EMR systems and digital healthcare platforms
- Evidence-based clinical decision-making and adherence to international ENT guidelines
- Strong clinical leadership and mentoring capabilities for junior medical staff
