Role Overview
A prestigious healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi is seeking a
Consultant General Surgeon to join its multidisciplinary surgical team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive surgical expertise, deliver exceptional patient care, and collaborate seamlessly within a culturally diverse environment. Arabic fluency is essential for patient communication and cultural alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of general surgical procedures (elective and emergency)
- Evaluate patients, diagnose surgical conditions, and develop treatment plans
- Lead preoperative and postoperative care in collaboration with nursing and allied health teams
- Contribute to surgical audits, quality improvement programs, and clinical governance
- Provide mentorship to junior surgeons and actively participate in CME initiatives
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records in compliance with DOH standards
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree with completed specialty training in General Surgery
- Recognized board certification (e.g., UK CCT, American Board, Arab Board, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of post-specialty experience, including consultant-level responsibility
- Fluency in Arabic and English
- Eligible for DOH (Department of Health—Abu Dhabi) Consultant license
