Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women's and children's hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women's Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.
The consultant will play a key role in advancing Danat Al Emarat's specialized women's health services, working within a multidisciplinary environment that includes Gynecology, Urology, Colorectal Surgery, Physiotherapy, Radiology, and Women's Health specialists. Danat Al Emarat offers dedicated Urogynecology services as part of its comprehensive women's healthcare program.
Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level Obstetrics & Gynecology care across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings.
- Diagnose and manage complex urogynecological and pelvic floor disorders, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, voiding dysfunction, overactive bladder, and recurrent urinary tract conditions.
- Perform advanced urogynecologic and reconstructive pelvic surgeries, including prolapse repair, sling procedures, vaginal and laparoscopic pelvic floor reconstruction, sacrocolpopexy, and other pelvic support procedures.
- Conduct and interpret urodynamic studies, perform diagnostic and therapeutic cystoscopy, and manage patients requiring both conservative and surgical treatment approaches.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive women's health services and optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, research, and departmental activities while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and evidence-based care.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) recognized by the Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi.
- Completion of an accredited residency training program in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
- Fellowship or recognized subspecialty training in Urogynecology, Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS), or equivalent.
- Tier 1 qualification preferred, including:
- American Board Certification
- CCT (United Kingdom)
- Canadian Fellowship
- Australian Fellowship
- German Facharzt with subspecialty training
- Equivalent internationally recognized qualifications accepted by DOH Abu Dhabi.
