About the Role
We are seeking a distinguished Consultant Pediatric Intensivist with extensive expertise in managing critically ill pediatric patients within a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting. The successful candidate will provide advanced critical care services, utilizing evidence-based practices, advanced monitoring techniques, and multidisciplinary approaches to deliver high-quality care for complex pediatric cases. The successful candidate will join a progressive healthcare setting committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centred pediatric intensive care services.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care management for critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
- Manage complex medical, surgical, and post-operative pediatric intensive care cases
- Perform and oversee advanced critical care procedures and interventions
- Manage respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, trauma, and multi-organ dysfunction in pediatric patients
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative, operative, and post-operative critical care support
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and evidence-based guidelines
- Collaborate with pediatricians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Support medical education, training, and departmental development
Qualifications
- Board certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine / Pediatric Intensive Care
- Recognised Tier 1 qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Pediatric Intensive Care
- Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
