Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate
Consultant Pediatric Nephrologist to join a leading hospital in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of kidney diseases and urinary tract disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. The consultant will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, family-centered care while contributing to clinical excellence, education, and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of pediatric kidney disorders, including:
- Congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT)
- Nephrotic syndrome and nephritic syndrome
- Acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney disease (CKD)
- Hypertension, electrolyte disturbances, and tubular disorders
- Glomerular diseases and hereditary renal disorders
- Manage pediatric dialysis programs, including peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis.
- Assess and manage children requiring renal replacement therapy.
- Coordinate renal transplant evaluations and provide comprehensive post-transplant follow-up care.
- Interpret renal imaging, kidney biopsy findings, and specialized laboratory investigations.
- Collaborate closely with pediatric urologists, intensivists, endocrinologists, radiologists, transplant teams, and other specialists.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding disease management, nutrition, medications, and long-term follow-up.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, teaching, and research activities.
- Remain up to date with advances in pediatric nephrology through continuing medical education and professional development.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Completion of specialty training in Pediatrics with fellowship or board certification in Pediatric Nephrology.
- Western-trained education and/or clinical experience (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Board certification in Pediatric Nephrology (American Board, Royal College, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience as a Consultant Pediatric Nephrologist in a tertiary or academic hospital.
- Eligibility for or possession of a valid DHA, DOH, or MOH Consultant license.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex pediatric renal diseases, dialysis, and renal transplantation.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based, family-centered care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
