Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Consultant PICU Specialist to join a leading tertiary healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will provide specialized intensive care management for critically ill infants, children, and adolescents within a state-of-the-art Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
  • Provide advanced life support and critical care management for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Perform and supervise pediatric critical care procedures including intubation, central venous access, arterial lines, and ventilator management.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing teams.
  • Respond to pediatric emergencies and rapid response situations.
  • Develop individualized treatment and care plans based on evidence-based medical practices.
  • Supervise junior physicians, residents, and PICU staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and medical records.
  • Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and continuing medical education activities.

Requirements

  • MBBS / Medical Degree with specialization in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
  • Board Certification / CCT / Fellowship / European Board / American Board or equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of Consultant-level PICU experience.
  • Experience in tertiary or internationally accredited hospitals preferred.
  • Eligibility for Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) licensing.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • UK CCT, Irish, European, Australian, Canadian, or American Board Certification.
  • Expertise in pediatric ventilation, sedation, and advanced critical care procedures.
  • Experience in high-acuity PICU settings.
