Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced
Consultant Psychiatrist who is fluent in Arabic to join a leading healthcare organization in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with a broad range of mental health disorders while ensuring compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support mental wellness across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, PTSD, and other mental health conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide pharmacological treatment, psychotherapy, counseling, and behavioral interventions where appropriate.
- Manage both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric cases.
- Provide crisis intervention and emergency psychiatric care when required.
- Collaborate with psychologists, neurologists, primary care physicians, social workers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive mental healthcare.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with Saudi healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education programs.
- Ensure patient confidentiality, ethical standards, and adherence to mental health best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by SCFHS (Saudi Commission for Health Specialties).
- Board Certification / Fellowship in Psychiatry.
- Valid SCFHS Consultant Registration/License or eligibility.
- Minimum 5–7 years of post-board consultant experience in Psychiatry within a reputed hospital or mental health center.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
- Strong expertise in adult psychiatry and mental health management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in community psychiatry and multidisciplinary mental health programs.
- Exposure to psychotherapy and behavioral therapy approaches.
- Academic and research experience is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment.
