Role Overview
As a Consultant / Specialist Psychiatrist in Dubai, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive psychiatric care across outpatient and inpatient settings, managing a wide spectrum of mental health conditions while working alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations, risk assessments, and diagnostic evaluations
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of psychiatric conditions such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and substance use disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy approaches
- Provide crisis intervention and acute psychiatric care when required
- Collaborate with psychologists, counselors, social workers, and other medical specialists for integrated patient care
- Monitor treatment progress, adjust medications, and ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain detailed and compliant clinical documentation in line with DHA and international standards
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive strategies
- Participate in clinical governance, audits, and continuous professional development initiatives
- Contribute to service development, mental health awareness, and community outreach programs
Eligibility & Board Recognition:
- American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
- UK CCT / GMC Specialist Register
- European Board Certification
- Canadian / Australian Fellowship
- Arab Board / FCPS / MD Psychiatry
- Minimum 35+ years post-board experience preferred
- DHA License eligibility or active license is an advantage
