Job Purpose
The Consultant/specialist Dermatologist is responsible for providing expert clinical care in dermatology, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of skin, hair, and nail conditions. The role places a strong emphasis on the assessment and management of skin aging, early detection through mole and skin cancer screening, and proactive skin health optimization as part of a preventative care approach.
The Consultant/Specialist Dermatologist contributes to IHLAD's healthy longevity model by integrating dermatological expertise with preventive care, advanced diagnostics, and lifestyle interventions to support long-term skin health and patient well-being. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the role delivers personalized patient care programs and supports early risk identification and age-related screening within a precision medicine framework.
The Consultant/Specialist Dermatologist also contributes to the continuous improvement of dermatology services within the organization, ensuring high standards of care, innovation, and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dermatology consultations, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of skin, hair, and nail conditions.
- Conduct detailed skin assessments with a strong focus on early detection of skin cancers, including mole screening and dermoscopic evaluation.
- Diagnose, treat, and monitor age-related skin conditions, incorporating preventative and regenerative dermatology approaches.
- Develop personalized treatment plans addressing skin health, aging, and overall wellbeing, integrating medical, procedural, and lifestyle-based interventions.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to incorporate dermatological insights into preventative health programs and longevity care plans.
- Support age-related and risk-based screening initiatives as part of the Institute's precision health model.
- Perform dermatological procedures as required, ensuring adherence to best clinical practices and patient safety standards.
- Educate patients on skin health, sun protection, early detection, and preventative strategies to support long-term outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records within the electronic health record system.
- Participate in care coordination discussions to align dermatological care with overall patient management plans.
- Stay up to date with advancements in dermatology, longevity medicine, and relevant technologies.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and support the ongoing development of dermatology services within IHLAD.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, professional standards, and clinical governance frameworks applicable to dermatology practice in the UAE.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies when handling patient information.
- Follow IHLAD clinical protocols, documentation standards, and patient safety guidelines.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality assurance initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications And Experience
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or equivalent qualification in Dermatology.
- Valid Department of Health (DOH) license or eligibility for obtaining a Dermatology license in Abu Dhabi.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in dermatology practice.
- Experience in preventive dermatology, skin aging, or aesthetic dermatology is an advantage.
