We are hiring a visceral surgeon who is specialized in abdominal surgery focused on diagnosing and operating on organs within the torso
Core Responsibilities
- Surgical Procedures: Perform operations on abdominal organs, including the stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and spleen (e.g., tumor resections, appendectomies, gallbladder removals).
- Preoperative Care: Conduct thorough clinical assessments, analyze diagnostic imaging, and evaluate patient health to formulate customized surgical plans.
- Postoperative Management: Oversee recovery, monitor for complications, and manage patient care immediately following surgery.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, and critical care teams to ensure comprehensive disease management.
- Patient Education: Consult with patients and families to explain surgical options, associated risks, and expected recovery outcomes.
Typical Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Residency: Successful completion of a residency program in General Surgery.
- Fellowship: Specialized fellowship training in Visceral Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, or Colorectal Surgery.
