Job Description

  • JOB SUMMARY :

Supervise the team who handle implementing and maintaining credit risk strategies for the Consumer credit business as a whole (operating, organizational, physical and technology models).

  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Generic Responsibilities

  • Coordinate among team members to implement the Consumer Credit Policy & Portfolio Management plan.
  • Assist the Head in disseminating policies & procedures and ensuring the efficient & effective performance of responsibilities.
  • Monitor a small group of employees with similar or lower seniority.
  • Ensure periodic training for officers, junior officers, and apprentice.
  • Participate in evaluating team members and provide feedback through performance evaluation
  • Conduct quarterly sample reviews for RCSA compliance and ensure proper incident reporting.
  • Participate in the preparation of periodic analytical reports and presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of credit strategy, guidelines and portfolio allocation.
  • Build a strong Risk/Consumer/Service Delivery partnership to deliver superior customer experience.
  • Critically analyze new retail credit risk product offerings to identity and mitigate underlying credit risks with practical solutions.
  • Review, redefine the framework for managing risk within consumer financing policies, provide recommendations to the Policy Head, and implement the approved framework.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of the cards portfolio by checking negative lists, loan portfolios, misuse reports and companies data, validating all established criteria.
  • Assess credit exceptions referred outside policy, provide recommendations, and discuss with the Head.
  • Act as a quality control function to ensure adherence to the credit program through daily/monthly sampling of process specifications.
  • Contribute to establishing controls that assess decision accuracy and detect errors, implementing preventive and corrective actions.
  • Investigate errors identified from credit file sampling and conduct training sessions to address policy understanding gaps.
  • Review record for all policy changes to ensure accurate tracking.
  • Participate in the development and review of portfolio modelling.
  • Limit credit concentrations to reduce credit cost volatility and closely monitor delinquency performance across various product portfolios and segments.
  • Define and control portfolio allocation at the product and sub-product level for consumer.
  • Communicate effectively with the business on all risk-related matters.
  • Drive behavioural change within the consumer risk and frontline staff selling credit products to foster a sales/service culture across Consumer market segments.
  • Train and coach the initiation team on changes related to credit risk control and assessment processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet the business needs.
  • Conduct credit policy training sessions for onboarding and existing staff.
  • Continuously improve the Management Information base to ensure its relevance, reflection of credit risk appetite, and utility for business decision-making and policy matters.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate production and delivery of all reporting and MI requirements within agreed SLAs.
  • Oversee related User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and review the results to ensure correct implementation.
  • Ensure the proper handling and resolution of complaints in cooperation with Consumer Rights Protection Compliance & Governance, adhering to established policies, procedures and SLAs.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree
  • Master degree is preferable

Minimum Experience:

7-9 years of relevant experience preferably banking
