Role Description

The Contract Administration Section Head – Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt. This role oversees the administration of contracts across assigned projects, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, company policies, and applicable regulations. Daily responsibilities include reviewing and drafting contract documents, leading contract negotiations, and coordinating with project managers, procurement teams, and external partners to ensure clarity of scope, deliverables, and timelines. The section head monitors contract performance, manages variations and claims, and prepares regular reports and analyses to support decision-making. The role also involves guiding junior staff, standardizing contract administration processes, and contributing to continuous improvement in project and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Contract Management and Contract Administration, including drafting, reviewing, and monitoring engineering and construction contracts.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in Contract Negotiation and Communication to manage discussions with clients, consultants, and suppliers and to resolve contract-related issues effectively.
  • Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to evaluate contract risks, interpret technical and commercial terms, and support data-driven recommendations.
  • Candidates should possess Procurement-related skills, including coordination with purchasing teams, understanding sourcing processes, and aligning contracts with procurement strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural, or Construction Engineering, or a related discipline; a postgraduate degree or professional certification in contract administration or construction law is an advantage.
  • Several years of relevant experience in contract administration within engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC or similar standard forms of contract and familiarity with local regulatory requirements in Egypt.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant contract or project management tools, with the ability to produce clear reports and documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple contracts simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines.
