Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our team and support the delivery of major railway infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have strong pre-contract and post-contract experience, preferably gained within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environment, and a solid background in the railway industry.

The successful candidate must have extensive experience administering contracts under FIDIC forms and be confident in managing commercial and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.

Missions/Main Duties

The Contract Administrator will be responsible for supporting all contractual and commercial activities from tender stage through to project close-out. The role requires close coordination with project teams, clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure that contractual obligations are properly managed and project risks are effectively controlled.

  • Managing pre-contract activities including tender preparation, review of tender documents, bid evaluation, contractual clarifications, and recommendation reports.
  • Supporting post-contract administration including contract interpretation, correspondence, change management, claims review, variation assessment, extension of time evaluations, and dispute avoidance.
  • Administering contracts in accordance with FIDIC conditions of contract.
  • Reviewing contractual notices, submissions, and claims from contractors and consultants.
  • Providing contractual advice to project teams and stakeholders on rights, obligations, risks, and entitlements.
  • Assisting in the preparation and negotiation of contract terms and amendments where required.
  • Monitoring compliance with contractual procedures, obligations, and deliverables.
  • Maintaining proper records of contractual communications, decisions, and supporting documentation.
  • Participating in commercial and progress meetings to provide contract administration support.
  • Supporting the resolution of contractual issues in coordination with project management, legal, and commercial teams.
  • Assisting with final account settlement and contract close-out activities.

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in contract administration on major infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated pre-contract and post-contract experience.
  • Previous experience working in a PMC environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience in the railway industry is highly desirable.
  • Must have worked on projects in the GCC region.
  • Strong working knowledge and practical application of FIDIC contracts is essential.
  • Experience in contract correspondence, variations, claims, extension of time, and contract close-out.
  • Strong understanding of commercial management and contractual risk.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a complex project environment.
  • Professional certifications or memberships such as MRICS, CIArb, or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • Experience on large-scale transport, rail, metro, or multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with local contractual practices and regulatory environments in GCC countries.
