Job Title : Contract management specialist ( UAEN are encouraged to apply)
Job purpose :
Manage and oversee high-value, high risk and complex contracts by managing the full contract lifecycle from drafting and negotiation through execution, governance, change control, and dispute matters ensuring all agreements are commercially sound, legally robust, and aligned with the organization's risk appetite and approval frameworks.
Core Responsibilities
- Review and validate contract requests for completeness, contractual sufficiency, and alignment with approved procurement strategy.
- Lead contract drafting at the pre-award stage for high-value (OPEX and CAPEX) agreements/amendments by reviewing scope, SOW, SLA, and KPIs for inclusion in RFP/RFQ documentation, ensuring appropriate risk allocation and contractual protections are embedded.
- Align contractual provisions with commercial proposals, ensuring consistency between pricing structure, scope, milestones, and contractual commitments prior to endorsement and approval.
- Assess contractual, financial, and operational risks associated with proposed changes, identify exposure areas, and recommend mitigation measures before formalization.
- Lead structured negotiations with suppliers on contractual terms (including scope, pricing, and timelines, as required)safeguarding the organization's legal and commercial position.
- Ensure governance compliance prior to execution, confirming all required approvals, endorsements, and documentation are secured before LOA issuance or contract signing.
- Oversee execution control, validate final contract versions, coordinate circulation for signature, and prevent operational commencement prior to formal execution.
- Maintain integrity of contract records within CMS and contract registers, ensuring documentation accuracy, version control, traceability, and audit readiness.
- Manage contractual variations, disputes, and compliance matters, assess entitlement, coordinate with Legal as required, and minimize audit observations through structured process adherence.
- Ensure all contract clauses are aligned with DCT policies, approved governance frameworks, and applicable regulatory requirements prior to issuance and execution
- Understanding of various forms of Agreements such as FIDIC and NEC
- Escalate material contractual, financial, or governance risks in a timely manner.
