UAQ is currently seeking a Contracts Engineer to join our team.
About the Role
The ideal candidate shall be following the mentioned below Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Proven experience in assisting contract drafting, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with the high standards and contractual frameworks.
- Capability to maintain a centralized contract repository and monitor contract performance, ensuring all milestones, deliverables, and obligations are tracked.
- Ability to obtain and regularly update logs showing the validity and expiry of bonds and guarantees.
- Experience in reporting contractual risks, maintaining a risk and disputes log, and keeping organized records of potential and actual conflicts.
- Familiarity with identifying risks that could lead to cost/time overruns or deviation from approved baselines.
- Competence in reviewing variations and analyzing extension-of-time (EOT) or scope change requests in accordance with contract terms.
- Diligence in tracking contract deadlines and obligations, ensuring compliance with submission schedules, payment conditions, and required notifications.
- Attention to detail in verifying contractual compliance prior to the approval of invoices and associated payments.
- Organizational skills to maintain accurate hard and soft copy records of all executed contracts, variations, and amendments.
- Ability to generate contract status reports and summarize performance and compliance metrics for internal stakeholders and decision-makers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Certification in Contract Management.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in contract management or contract administration.
- Good knowledge of standard contracts, preferably FIDIC.
- Experience in writing and responding to contractual letters and notices.
- Strong skills in understanding and drafting contracts.
