Control System Draftsman / CAD Technician

We are seeking a skilled Control System Draftsman to support our growing portfolio of projects in the GCC. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing precise and compliant electrical and control system drawings that meet the specific standards and requirements of the Gulf region. Your work will be critical to the successful delivery of projects from design through to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and loop diagrams using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
• Prepare drawings that comply with local GCC regulations, standards, and authority requirements (e.g., ADDC/DEWA, QCD, SEC, ASHGHAL).
• Generate project documentation including bills of materials (BOMs), cable schedules, and termination lists tailored to regional specifications.
• Collaborate closely with project engineers and managers to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and adhere to client and local standards.
• Incorporate specific GCC client standards and follow local drafting practices for utilities, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects.
• Ensure all drawings are reviewed, approved, and archived according to project and company quality procedures.
• Support site teams during installation and commissioning by providing clarifications and producing as-built drawings.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience as a Control System Draftsman.
• Proven experience working on engineering projects within the GCC region (UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, or Bahrain) is mandatory.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical; experience with EPlan is a plus.
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles and control system components (PLC, SCADA, instrumentation).
• Familiarity with international (IEC, NEC) and relevant GCC electrical standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under project deadlines.
• Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in key GCC industries: Oil & Gas, Water & Power Utilities, Infrastructure.
• Direct experience submitting drawings for approval to local government authorities or major national companies (e.g., ADNOC, Aramco, Qatargas, DEWA).
• Understanding of 3D modeling and BIM coordination processes as applied in the region.
