We are looking to hire a Corporate Head - Finance who will be responsible for leading corporate finance and funding strategy, capital structure optimization, and financial risk governance for our client based in Abu Dhabi — a leading semi government organization.
This position is offered on a contract basis with an initial duration of 12 months – renewable based on performance and business needs.
We are looking for a finance leader who can drive financial modelling for major investment and M&A decisions, oversee board-level reporting and executive insights, and build strong relationships with banks, insurers, and regulators. The candidate should also have experience in debt negotiation and structuring, benchmarking and performance analysis across business units, and leading and mentoring a corporate finance team.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute function-level Corporate Finance initiatives and KPIs aligned with departmental and organizational strategy.
- Manage the design, review, and optimization of the organization's capital structure to ensure a balanced mix of equity, debt, and internal funding.
- Analyze the organization's funding portfolio by evaluating cost of capital, liquidity, and leverage metrics.
- Support the negotiation and structuring of new debt facilities, refinancing arrangements, and financing terms with banks and credit agencies.
- Collaborate with the Treasury & Insurance team to forecast cash flows, manage interest exposure, and support liquidity management initiatives.
- Develop recommendations on dividend policy, funding mix, and debt covenants to strengthen balance sheet resilience.
- Regularly review and report on capital structure efficiency and financial capacity utilization for leadership decision-making.
- Lead the preparation and validation of advanced financial models for capital planning, project financing, and investment assessments.
- Provide financial inputs, feasibility assessments, and due diligence support to the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team.
- Conduct performance benchmarking and comparative analysis of subsidiaries and business units to identify efficiency gaps and growth opportunities.
- Deliver financial insights on leverage, profitability, and return on invested capital (ROIC) to support executive-level strategy.
- Identify, assess, and monitor financial risks such as interest rate, currency, and counterparty exposures, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Oversee insurance policy adequacy and evaluate market trends to optimize coverage and cost.
- Oversee the preparation of corporate finance reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for senior management and the Board.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements, internal controls, and governance standards across all corporate finance activities.
- Represent the Corporate Finance function in management committees and strategic reviews.
- Manage, develop, and mentor the Corporate Finance team, including performance feedback, talent development, and succession planning.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. MBA (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Professional certification preferred (ACT, CTP, CA, CPA) or equivalent international financial credentials.
- 10-12 years experience in treasury, corporate finance, liquidity management, and insurance governance, in either a public or private organization.
- 5 years experience in a managerial role overseeing treasury, corporate finance, and insurance functions.
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing group-wide treasury and insurance frameworks, encompassing liquidity management, funding strategy, and insurance governance.
- Extensive experience managing complex funding structures and capital allocation, including debt optimization, intercompany liquidity management, and investment oversight.
- Extensive exposure to overseeing banking, insurance, and financial risk relationships, fostering strong partnerships with banks, insurers, auditors, and regulators.
- Extensive experience driving governance, policy, and compliance excellence across treasury and insurance operations.
