JOB OVERVIEW
The Catering Sales Agent is responsible for driving sales for the catering department. This job is responsible for promoting and selling the catering offerings to prospective clients, establishing, and nurturing client relationships, and achieving sales targets.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively seek out new sales opportunities and generate leads for catering services.
- Identify and approach potential clients, such as corporate businesses, event planners, and individuals hosting special occasions.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitor offerings, and potential target markets.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, providing exceptional customer service.
- Understand clients specific catering needs and customise proposals and menus accordingly.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and tastings to showcase our catering offerings.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries, providing accurate and detailed information about our services.
- Prepare and present comprehensive catering proposals to clients, highlighting menu options, pricing, and event details.
- Negotiate terms and conditions, pricing, and contract agreements with clients.
- Collaborate with the catering team and other departments to ensure seamless execution of contracted events.
- Liaise with clients and internal teams to coordinate all aspects of catered events, including menu selection, logistics, and special requests.
- Communicate client requirements and event details effectively to the catering team to ensure successful event execution.
- Conduct post-event follow-ups to gather feedback, address any concerns, and foster long-term client relationships.
- Track and report on sales activities, including lead generation, client interactions, and sales revenue.
- Monitor industry trends and market conditions, providing insights and recommendations for business growth.
- Analyse sales data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop sales strategies.
- Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilise sound judgment in decision making.
- Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualifications
- High school diploma or certification in food and beverage or hospitality management.
Technical Competencies
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Results-driven mindset, with a focus on achieving sales objectives and driving revenue growth.

Work Experience
- A minimum of 1-3 years relevant experience.
- Previous experience in sales, preferably in the catering or hospitality industry, is preferred.
