Job Purpose:

A Cost Accountant makes sure that the finances of an organization run smoothly. They focus on developing and maintaining adequate budgets, which include costs associated with operations such as employee benefits or marketing campaigns

Job Description:

A.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed analysis on inventory costs to assist in the development of standard costs and understanding of inventory variances
• Execute timely standard cost updates on periodical basis as required in ERP system
• Utilizing current or future ERP applications, automate creation of the monthly and quarterly reporting packages to ensure timeliness and accuracy, providing direct download capabilities where possible to eliminate redundant data entry; also use extraction capabilities to perform ad-hoc projects and analysis
• Run month end process order settlements and assessments and provide monthly reporting on various related metrics - Completion of month end close responsibilities
• Analyze cost variance analysis and compares actual to system standards for both material and labor
• Analyze results of inventory counts and their impact to the Income statement
• Project cost control, Cashflow analysis, Contract / PO reconciliation
• Provide product costing for pricing and business decisions. Cost budget – working with concerned managers and define detailed material, labor and overhead Plan and record variable costs (e.g. purchases of raw material and operations costs)
• Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
• Prepare budgeting reports (for the company and for each department)
• Analyze and report profit margins
• Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts
• Perform month-end and year-end closings including journal entries and reconciliations. Inventory subledger to GL reconciliation Identify and recommend cost-effective solution

B. Job Requirements:

• Pharmaceutical experience is highly desired
• Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
• Strong time management skills
• Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information

C. Education Requirements:

• BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant study

D. Competencies and Behaviors:

• Indisputable analytical thinking
• Ability to handle complex and interrelated data simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal skills in English
