Job Summary
Euro Group Engineering Consultancy is seeking a highly capable Cost Control & Estimation Engineer to support project cost planning, estimation, budgeting, and financial monitoring across our engineering design projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, deep attention to detail, and solid experience in cost estimation and cost control within the engineering consultancy sector.
This role requires a professional who can develop accurate cost estimates, monitor project expenditures, analyze financial trends, and ensure compliance with both Saudi regulations and international cost engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Estimation & Budget Development
- Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and overheads based on project scope and design documents.
- Prepare detailed BOQs, pricing sheets, and cost breakdowns aligned with Saudi authority requirements and industry standards.
- Assist in developing project budgets, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, and objectives.
2. Cost Control & Financial Monitoring
- Monitor project expenses throughout the project lifecycle and identify cost variances.
- Implement corrective actions to maintain budget compliance and financial efficiency.
- Track expenditures, commitments, and financial progress across all project disciplines.
3. Forecasting & Financial Analysis
- Prepare and analyze financial forecasts, identifying potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
- Conduct cash flow analysis and support financial planning for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Evaluate the financial impact of design changes, scope adjustments, and schedule variations.
4. Reporting & Documentation
- Generate regular cost reports reflecting actual costs versus planned budgets for all disciplines.
- Provide insights into cost performance, trends, and areas requiring management attention.
- Maintain accurate documentation of cost data, variations, and financial correspondence.
5. Process Improvement & Compliance
- Continuously evaluate and improve cost control processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure all cost control and estimation activities comply with Saudi regulations, company policies, and international cost engineering standards (AACE, PMI, etc.).
- Support internal audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
6. Coordination & Communication
- Collaborate closely with project managers, design teams, procurement, and finance departments.
- Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to discuss costrelated matters.
- Communicate cost insights clearly and professionally across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of total professional experience, including at least 5 years of proven work experience in Saudi Arabia.
- Strong experience in cost estimation, cost control, project budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, cost management tools, and project documentation software.
- Familiarity with Saudi authority requirements and engineering consultancy environments is an advantage.
Work Conditions
- Primarily officebased at Euro Group's Riyadh headquarters.
- Occasional visits to project sites or client offices for coordination.
- Fastpaced environment requiring strong organizational and communication skills.
