Job Title: Cost Control Senior Engineer.
Sector/Business Line: ElSewedy Electric T&D.
Scope: Transmission & Distribution.
Department: Project Controls.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain project cost control systems, procedures, and reporting tools.
- Establish and monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
- Prepare and update project cost reports, cost performance indices, and management dashboards.
- Analyze cost variances and identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities.
- Monitor project progress and integrate cost performance with schedule performance.
- Perform earned value analysis and provide accurate cost forecasting.
- Review and validate contractor invoices, payment applications, and variations.
- Track and control change orders, claims, and budget adjustments.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and funding requirement analyses.
- Coordinate with planning, procurement, finance, and project management teams.
- Support project managers in financial decision-making and cost optimization initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with project controls procedures, company policies, and contractual requirements.
- Participate in risk assessments and evaluate potential cost impacts.
- Lead monthly cost review meetings and present project financial status to management.
- Mentor and guide junior cost control engineers and project controls staff.
- Support tendering and estimating teams by providing historical cost data and lessons learned.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the project controls function.
Direct Manager: Cost Control Team Leader.
Education Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- 5-7 years of experience in cost control, project controls, and financial management of large-scale construction, infrastructure, industrial, or EPC projects.
- Proven experience in budget development, cost monitoring, forecasting, and cost reporting.
- Strong background in project cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience in analyzing variances, trends, and project financial performance.
- Familiarity with contractual requirements, change management, and claims evaluation.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams and project stakeholders.
- Previous experience in supervising or mentoring junior cost control engineers is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced formulas, PivotTables, and dashboards).
- Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and project controls integration.
- Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and reporting tools.
- Expertise in project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and cash flow management.
- Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
- Knowledge of project accounting, cost breakdown structures (CBS), and work breakdown structures (WBS).
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
