Job Description

Role Summary:

The Rig Cost Controller will be responsible for various financial tasks and analyses in relation to Rigs / Offices Profit centres and Legal entities for the whole region. In addition to local audit, tax, and budget preparation. Applying the accounting principles to prepare and analyse financial information for the assigned rigs and offices. Ensure compliance with the company's policies and procedures and related internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Borr's vision and apply the company values in all business activities.
  • Monitor and manage compliance with accounting policies and controls within the region, including compliance with internal controls and associated documentation requirements.
  • Preparation of Customer Invoices, including all supporting documents and uploading to Customer Portal, and booking in IFS system.
  • Following up with customers on AR invoices status, expected payment dates, and updating the weekly AR Report.
  • Prepare the month-end accruals and amortization schedules
  • Preparing and reviewing Balance Sheet Reconciliation and supporting documents/schedules. Plus following up on the reconciling differences to be cleared on time.
  • Preparation of Bank Reconciliations for the Region and ensuring all reconciling differences are booked in IFS on time.
  • Assist the Finance Manager during monthly and quarterly accounting closes to ensure all accounting entries are entered accurately and timely.
  • Assist the Finance Manager to report and explain cost variances versus budget.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in preparing the monthly reporting requirements for the region.
  • Review the WHT, VAT returns submitted by AP Team.
  • Review the IKTVA submissions.
  • Preparing the monthly Bareboat charter invoices and supporting documents.
  • Perform analysis to understand cost trends and provide analysis to management to assist with decision-making.
  • Assist with forecast and annual budget preparation.
  • Oversees the efficient resolution of all intercompany differences throughout the close. And ensure intercompany balances are settled in a timely manner.
  • Run Balance Sheet Revaluation for the Legal Entities in the Region.
  • Coordinates regional internal and external audits and works with Cost Controllers and Accountants in the region to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with regional tax compliance and work closely with the Corporate Tax team to ensure compliance with tax reporting deadlines.
  • Provide support and information to other departments when requested/required to ensure accurate financial records (e.g., Supply Chain, HR, IT, Operations, Shipyard Projects).
  • Provide cost control and accounting support for shipyard projects and rig reactivations.
  • Monitor Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) compliance in the region, and ensure accounting classification is in line with group accounting policies.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and other tasks as required.
  • Communicates internally with Cost Controller, Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Rig Managers, Heads of Departments, Co-workers, and Colleagues.
  • Communicates externally with customers and vendors to ensure all transactions are recorded and there are no open issues.
  • Provides assistance to the Rig Manager and other functional departments with respect to their department cost.
  • Ensure proper control and verification of all transaction and the recording of the same correctly.
  • If required, supervise accounts payable function
  • Office based role which requires attention to detail and data management working under general supervision and where problems can be difficult but not complex.
  • Occasional offshore/shipyard visits may be required in this role.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting /Finance or other relevant discipline at the Company's discretion,
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel knowledge.
  • Excellent Microsoft Power BI knowledge.
  • CA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA/CMA completed or part-qualified preferred.

Experience

  • Previous accounting experience in the International Offshore Drilling Industry. Prefer experience in similar role within the offshore drilling related environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; fluency in English required.
  • Advanced MS Excel working knowledge and ERP experience preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and to follow up on all tasks to completion.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills: demonstrate ability to evaluate problems from differing viewpoints and recognize potential root cause of problems and suggest possible solutions.
  • Be approachable and maintain open and transparent communication with Team, Internal and External stakeholders, and management team.
  • Develop good working relationships with Divisional and Corporate colleagues and external stakeholders, as required.
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner both on and off the job to include confidentiality of Company and Client business
