  • Provide leadership and direction to the Costing Department, ensuring precision and timeliness in all costing operations.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of standard cost models covering materials, labour, and machinery to enhance cost accuracy and control.
  • Preparing Feasibility Studies for Challenging Items and Assess Tender Opportunities.
  • Manage, Design and implement Activity-Based Costing (ABC) systems, improving cost allocation and internal transparency.
  • On a monthly basis, Manage conducting the material ledger (ML) process to reflect the actual cost on SAP.
  • Evaluating the adequacy of cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures in reference to cost accounting.
  • Analysing the changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided to determine effects on cost.
  • Analysing the 3 types of variances, price variance, consumption variance and overhead variance, and recommending changes.
  • Analysing the over(under) applied OH amount.
  • Analysing the profitability of hikma's products and providing advice, suggestions, and guidance in order to reduce the cost.
  • Review and enhance cost accounting policies and systems, aligning them with internal controls and best practices.

Inventory Control Function

  • Overseeing the inventory levels and analysing the variances between the actual and standard inventory cost to decrease the gap between them.
  • On monthly basis, tracking the slow-moving inventory and LCM provisions and conducting meetings with the related departments to control the provisions levels.
  • Interpreting and reporting the rate change impact on inventories.
  • Managing the physical count process for inventory and fixed assets.

Fixed Assets Function

  • Manage fixed asset tracking, capitalization, and disposals in accordance with company and accounting policies.

Policies, Processes & Procedures

Participates in the development and recommends improvement on Costing department policies, and procedures, and manages the implementation to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled

People Management

Manages the effective achievement of Costing departmental objectives through setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff to maximize subordinate performance.

Continuous Improvement

Stimulates subordinates and contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Reporting

Manages the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet company and department requirements, policies, and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CMA, or equivalent certification is a plus).
  • 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Industry experience in pharmaceuticals organizations.
  • Experience with multinational organizations.
  • SAP user experience is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and cost efficiencies.
