Job Purpose:
The People Development Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end execution of learning initiatives and performance management cycles. You will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and operational excellence, ensuring that every workshop, report, and performance review runs seamlessly while proactively identifying ways to modernize our people processes.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Operations:
- Manage the full training lifecycle, including venue booking, material preparation, catering, and on-site/virtual coordination;
- Oversee the L&D calendar, ensuring all stakeholders are invited and attendance is optimized;
- Manage the nomination process for external and internal programs.
Performance Management:
- Support the administration of annual and mid-year performance review cycles;
- Act as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding performance systems and deadlines.
Data & Reporting:
- Track and report on training man-hours, budget utilization, and participation rates;
- Analyze feedback surveys to measure the effectiveness of learning interventions.
Process Improvement- Audit current L&D and Performance workflows.
Recommend and implement solutions for process failures (e.g., automating manual tracking or streamlining nomination forms).
Event Design: Assist in the creative design of workshops, team-building events, and culture-shaping initiatives.
Internal Controls
- Supports the L&D Lead with the Internal Control topics suggest improvements and test (when required) the processes and controls within his/her own preview;
- Follows the Code of Business Conduct process as prescribed by the Company.
Competition and Law Compliance
- Is aware of the competition law and adapts his/her behavior by knowing it;
- Is aware about Group Conflict of Interest Guideline, Antibribery and code of business conduct.
General
- As required, conduct other duties as requested by the L&D Lead and CPO or his delegate to ensure the professional Operations of Holcim UAE.
Level of education/qualifications required:
- University degree in Psychology, Human Resources or other relevant;
- Minimum 2 years experience in core HR activities e.g. L&D and PM preferably from MNCs.
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Performance Management software preferably SAP SuccessFactors.
Technical / functional skills:
- Tech Savviness: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (specifically Outlook for complex scheduling and Excel );
- Data Analytics: Ability to transform raw data into clear reports regarding man-hours and ROI;
- Virtual Collaboration Tools: Power-user status with Zoom, MS Teams, for interactive workshops;
- Design Tools: Familiarity with Canva or similar tools to create visually engaging training announcements and materials.
