Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Creative Design Director to join a leading Retail business in Dubai and lead and elevate the creative function.

The Role

As Creative Design Director, you will oversee a multidisciplinary creative team and shape the development of high-quality, integrated marketing assets aligned with business objectives. You'll translate strategy into inspiring creative direction while ensuring operational excellence across all output.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead and oversee creative output across web, print, digital, and integrated marketing channels
  • Develop and implement content strategies for both large-scale and targeted campaigns
  • Partner closely with marketing, communications, and commercial teams to support business planning and performance goals
  • Translate marketing objectives into clear, compelling, and strategically aligned creative direction
  • Use brand performance data, consumer insights, and market trends to inform creative decisions

Creative Direction & Delivery

  • Drive campaign development from concept through to execution
  • Oversee production of integrated content across digital, social, paid media, mobile, and offline channels
  • Review and approve all creative assets to ensure consistency, quality, and brand alignment
  • Manage timelines, workflows, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and creative excellence

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional team including designers, copywriters, digital specialists, content creators, UX/UI professionals, and project managers
  • Implement performance management and continuous development plans
  • Identify capability gaps and support upskilling initiatives
  • Build a sustainable creative talent pipeline for future growth
  • Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organisation

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred

Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in creative marketing or brand leadership
  • Minimum 10 years in a senior creative leadership role (agency or corporate)
  • Proven track record delivering integrated, multi-channel campaigns

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong strategic mindset paired with creative vision
  • Deep understanding of digital, social, paid media, mobile, and traditional channels
  • Expertise in managing large teams and complex workflows
  • Commercial awareness and budget management experience
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Full professional proficiency in English (additional languages advantageous)
