Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • Assist with daily credit evaluation and underwriting, reviewing applications against company policies and basic risk criteria. Support data validation, documentation, and timely processing. Identify risks and escalate when needed, while contributing to portfolio quality and improvements in credit processes and tools.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the daily operations of the credit underwriting unit, ensuring timely processing of applications.
  • Review and validate credit assessments submitted by analysts for consistency, completeness, and risk alignment.
  • Ensure adherence to credit policies, approval matrices, and documentation standards.
  • Escalate high-risk or exceptional cases to the Head of Credit with supporting analysis and recommendations.
  • Maintain strong coordination with sales and product teams to clarify application information and enhance quality.
  • Ensure that customer creditworthiness is assessed using scorecards, credit bureau data, and internal metrics.
  • Monitor portfolio trends and highlight warning signs of deteriorating credit profiles to senior management.
  • Collaborate with the MIS/Risk team to generate periodic credit performance reports and dashboards.
  • Participate in periodic policy reviews, suggesting enhancements based on front-line feedback.
  • Ensure audit readiness and provide necessary documents during internal or external audits.
  • Coordinate with fraud and verification teams to validate high-risk applications.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics or any related fields
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in credit underwriting and risk management.
  • Familiarity with consumer segments, as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Deep expertise in credit risk assessment and scoring
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Proficiency in credit-related systems and tools
  • Cross-functional collaboration and communication
  • Regulatory and audit preparedness
  • Excellent command of English.
