About the Role:

MariBank is seeking a Credit Analyst to join its Credit Risk team, responsible for assessing and monitoring credit risk across the bank's Treasury and Large Corporate counterparty portfolios. This role combines hands-on credit analysis with broader responsibilities in management and regulatory reporting, offering exposure to both counterparty risk management and the operational backbone of the bank's credit function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Credit Analysis & Portfolio Monitoring:
  • Conduct credit assessments of Treasury counterparties (banks, financial institutions) and Large Corporate borrowers, including financial spreading, ratio analysis, and qualitative risk assessment
  • Prepare credit memos and annual/periodic reviews recommending credit limits, ratings, and terms
  • Monitor counterparty and borrower credit quality on an ongoing basis, flagging emerging risks (covenant breaches, rating migrations, adverse news, sector developments)
  • Track and manage credit limit utilization, expiries, and renewal pipelines
  • Support due diligence for new counterparty onboarding and limit requests
  • Assist in credit assessment of loan channeling partners, including partner-level due diligence and ongoing portfolio quality monitoring
  • Liaise with Business, Treasury, Legal, and other stakeholders on credit-related matters
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation of credit workflows and reporting
  • Credit Policy:
  • Support the update, maintenance, and ownership of credit management policies and guidelines, ensuring they remain current with portfolio developments and regulatory expectations
  • Management Reporting
  • Prepare periodic credit risk management reports (portfolio composition, concentration, watchlist, exposure trends) for senior management and risk committees
  • Prepare presentations and materials for management reporting and risk committee updates
  • Maintain and enhance reporting templates/dashboards to improve accuracy and turnaround time
  • Regulatory Reporting & Stress Testing:
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing credit-risk-related regulatory submissions (e.g., MAS returns) in coordination with Regulatory Reporting teams
  • Support stress testing of the credit portfolio, including scenario analysis and results reporting
  • Support data quality checks, reconciliations, and documentation to ensure regulatory reporting accuracy and audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in credit analysis, covering either financial institutions/Treasury counterparties or large corporate (both an advantage)
  • Strong financial statement analysis and credit assessment skills
  • Financial projection and modelling skills, with ability to build and assess forward looking scenarios as part of credit and stress testing analysis
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for banks in Singapore (MAS) is a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with credit systems or reporting automation tools is an advantage
  • CFA, FRM, ACCA/CA, or other relevant professional qualification (completed or in progress) is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present analysis clearly to senior stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deliverables under deadline pressure
