Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit import, export and transhipment declarations via TradeNet.
  • Process applications for Certificates of Origin (CO) and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) certificates, including:Form DForm ERCEP Certificate of OriginForm AJChamber Certificate of Origin (CO)
  • Apply for Controlled Goods and Strategic Goods permits, including:CA PermitStrategic Goods PermitTranshipment PermitOther regulatory licences as required.
  • Review product information, HS Codes, country of origin, destination country and applicable Free Trade Agreements to determine the appropriate customs declarations, permits and certificates.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore Customs regulations, trade laws and internal compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with Singapore Customs, government agencies, chambers of commerce, customers and internal stakeholders on customs-related matters.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes, customs policies and Free Trade Agreement developments.
  • Provide professional customs and trade compliance advice to support business operations.
  • Investigate and resolve customs declaration discrepancies and operational issues.
  • Support other departmental responsibilities and ad hoc assignments when required.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant Singapore Customs and Trade Compliance experience.
  • Hands-on experience using TradeNet and Portnet systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore Customs regulations, import/export procedures and customs documentation.
  • Experience in handling various Certificates of Origin and Free Trade Agreement applications, including Form D, Form E, RCEP, Form AJ and Chamber CO.
  • Familiar with Controlled Goods regulations and permit applications, including CA Permit, Strategic Goods Permit and other regulatory licences.
  • Good understanding of HS Code classification, Rules of Origin and international trade compliance.
  • Ability to independently manage customs declarations and resolve customs-related issues.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A meticulous, responsible and proactive team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience in the shipping, logistics, freight forwarding or supply chain industry will have an added advantage.
