Cutting Machine Operator

Key Job Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic paper cutting machines accurately and safely.
• Cut printed sheets according to production job specifications.
• Read and understand job cards, cutting layouts, and production instructions.
• Ensure accurate cutting dimensions, squareness, and consistency.
• Set up cutting programs and back gauge for different job sizes.
• Inspect printed sheets before and after cutting to maintain quality standards.
• Stack, label, and prepare finished jobs for folding, binding, or dispatch.
• Meet production targets while minimizing paper wastage.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of the cutting machine

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience operating Cutting Machines in a commercial offset

printing press.

• Good knowledge of paper sizes, grain direction, cutting sequences, and imposition layouts.
• Ability to read production job tickets and cutting plans.
• Experience handling coated, uncoated, board, and specialty papers.
• Experience with programmable cutting machines is preferred.
• Blade changing experience is mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with programmable cutting systems.
• Understanding of offset printing and post-press operations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
