Manager – Cyber Operations
Our client is seeking an experienced Manager – Cyber Operations to lead and strengthen cybersecurity operations within a complex, safety-critical engineering environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for security operations, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and penetration testing. Leading a small but growing team, you'll play a key role in protecting critical infrastructure while helping shape the organisation's operational security capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day cyber security operations and security monitoring activities.
- Deploy, manage and optimise SIEM platforms, including alert tuning, use case development and threat detection.
- Own vulnerability management programmes, from assessment through to remediation.
- Plan and coordinate penetration testing across enterprise and engineering environments.
- Lead incident response investigations, containment and recovery activities.
- Develop security baselines and monitor compliance across infrastructure and systems.
- Mentor and develop SOC Analysts while supporting the growth of the cyber operations function.
- Assess cyber risks and implement practical, effective security controls.
About You
- 12+ years experience in cybersecurity operations, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience deploying and managing enterprise SIEM solutions.
- Strong expertise in vulnerability management, incident response and penetration testing.
- Experience within defence, aerospace, critical infrastructure or other highly regulated sectors.
- Strong stakeholder management and team leadership skills.
Desirable Experience
- Sovereign or classified environments.
- Operational Technology (OT/ICS) security.
- Defence information assurance or airworthiness security standards.
- Building or expanding SOC capabilities.
