Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactive Security Design: Identify and address security risks in new features and systems through threat modeling, ensuring security is built-in from the start.
  • Code and System Vulnerability: Conduct secure code reviews and apply penetration testing techniques to find and fix security weaknesses in our applications and infrastructure.
  • Security Culture & Awareness: Develop and deliver security awareness training to all Waffarha employees, fostering a security-conscious environment.
  • Third-Party Security: Assess and manage the security risks posed by our external vendors and partners, ensuring their practices meet our security standards.
  • Security Operations: Implement, manage, and monitor security tools (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, IAM) to detect and respond to security incidents, keeping our systems and data safe 24/7.
  • Policy & Compliance: Develop and enforce security policies and procedures, ensuring Waffarha adheres to relevant industry standards and data protection regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor&aposs degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity engineering role, preferably within an e-commerce, fintech, or high-transaction online environment.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Linux, Windows), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., Python, Bash, Go) for automation and security tool development.
  • Experience with various security tools and methodologies, including:
  • Vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus, Qualys)
  • Penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Kali Linux)
  • SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Elastic Stack, ArcSight)
  • Secure code analysis tools (SAST/DAST)
  • Strong knowledge of common web application vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and mobile application security.
  • Familiarity with data protection regulations and standards relevant to Egypt and the region (e.g., GDPR principles, PCI DSS).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written in Arabic and English) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
