Job Description
The cybersecurity academy advisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the academy which includes developing and delivering cyber security training courses, programs, and awareness sessions and workshops to upskill and enhance the cyber security knowledge and skills of different stakeholders including employees, students, and community members in addition to lab management, oversee daily operations and provide hands-on technical support. The position requires a strong understanding of cyber security principles, along with the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Plan and Oversee Academy Programs and Initiatives: Lead the end-to-end planning, implementation, and evaluation of academy events, certification tracks, or training
modules.
- Track Program KPIs and Metrics: Measure success through student outcomes, enrollment rates, certification pass rates, and feedback surveys
- Ensure Resource Allocation and Budget Compliance: Oversee use of equipment, software tools, and funding to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Training Development: Design and develop training material, labs, and programs focused on various topics and aspects of cyber security.
- Training Delivery: Conduct engaging training and awareness sessions, workshops, seminars and webinars.
- Training Material Management: Evaluate and update training material on a regular basis to reflect latest cybersecurity trends, regulations and technologies.
- Evaluation and Assessment: Develop and implement cyber security skills assessments to evaluate and identify the skills level and areas of improvements.
- Reporting and documentation: Maintain records of training sessions, participant progress, and feedback for management review summarizing training activities,
participant engagement, and programs effectiveness.
- Communication and Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for all training-related inquiries and initiatives.
- Provide Academic Advising and Curriculum Guidance: Assist students in selecting appropriate courses, certifications, and training paths aligned with their interests
and career goals in cybersecurity.
- Oversee Daily Laboratory Operations: Manage the day-to-day functions of the lab to ensure smooth workflows, proper scheduling, and efficient use of resources.
- Maintain Laboratory Equipment: Ensure all instruments are functioning correctly by performing regular maintenance, calibrations, and coordinating repairs when
needed.
- Provide Hands-On Technical Assistance: Offer direct support in the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and equipment. This
ensures minimal downtime and smooth workflow for users.
- Monitor Equipment Performance and Logs:Maintain usage and service logs to track performance trends, identify recurring issues, and ensure preventative maintenance
is conducted on time.
- Assist with Instrument Installation and Configuration:Oversee setup of new equipment, including installation, calibration, software configuration, and
integration into existing lab workflows.
- Research and Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on the latest developments in cyber security threats, trends, and technologies and share knowledge by preparing
internal newsletters, webinars, or forums to keep the organization informed.
