Job Summary
The Darkstore In-Charge/Supervisor is the owner of a darkstore's daily operations. This role ensures that inbound, outbound, inventory, availability, and last-mile handover are executed with discipline and accuracy. The In-Charge leads the site team, ensures SLA adherence, drives operational excellence, and maintains full readiness of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Store Operations Management
- Lead and manage the full operation of one Darkstore location.
- Oversee daily inbound, outbound, picking, packing, dispatch, and replenishment activities.
- Ensure all SOPs are strictly followed across the site hygiene, safety, receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch.
- Maintain high standards of organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop the store's team:
- 2 Supervisors (Inbound/Outbound or Shift-based)
- Pickers & Packers
- Plan daily rosters, manage shifts, and ensure full coverage for peak hours.
- Train new staff and continuously mentor existing teams for speed, accuracy, and discipline.
- Build a strong culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
Inbound, Inventory & Availability
- Supervise inbound deliveries, receiving, storage, and put-away processes.
- Ensure strong inventory control cycle counts, expiry checks, FIFO, and zero shrink mindset.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and immediate resolution of discrepancies.
- Manage replenishment to ensure high availability of all SKUs.
Picking, Packing & SLA Control
- Supervise daily pick-and-pack operations ensuring:
- Zero error accuracy
- Fast picking speeds
- Strict SLA adherence
- Monitor picker performance and ensure continuous improvement.
- Escalate any bottlenecks immediately to the Operations Manager.
Last-Mile Coordination
- Work closely with fleet/riders to ensure efficient dispatch and fast handover.
- Manage staging area for ready orders.
- Ensure all orders are delivered within defined SLAs with minimal returns or reships.
Facility Management
- Ensure the darkstore facility is fully operational equipment, chillers, shelves, lighting, and systems.
- Address maintenance issues immediately and coordinate with relevant teams.
- Implement safety and hygiene standards across all zones.
Reporting & Performance
- Track and report daily KPIs:
- SLA performance
- Picking accuracy
- Out-of-stock rate
- Inventory accuracy
- Waste & shrink
- Prepare daily store performance reports and raise issues proactively.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 35 years darkstore operations.
- Experience supervising or managing teams in a high-volume environment.
- Strong knowledge of receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and dispatch processes.
- Experience handling inventory management and reducing shrink/waste.
- Comfortable managing 2050 staff (including supervisors and pickers).
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with strict SLAs.
