JOB PURPOSE: A Power BI eCommerce Data Analyst supporting the FMCG and quick-commerce operations needs to be the strategic brain behind the specialist role, focusing on extracting insights from the vast data generated by these marketplaces.
The eCommerce Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing performance data from all online sales channels to provide actionable insights. This role directly supports the eCommerce Commercial teams in optimizing sales strategies, improving marketing efficiency, and identifying growth opportunities across major marketplaces and quick-commerce platforms (Amazon, Noon, Careem Quick, Tmart, El Grocer, etc.).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Data Collection & Integrity
- Data Sourcing: Extract, transform, and load (ETL) large, disparate datasets from multiple sources, including platform-specific reports (e.g., Amazon Vendor/Seller Central reports, Noon Partner Portal data) and internal systems (ERP, CRM).
- Data Cleansing: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all eCommerce data (Sales, Inventory, Pricing, Advertising, Customer Reviews) across all reporting tools.
- Database Management: Assist in maintaining and structuring the data warehouse or centralized database specifically for eCommerce channel performance.
2. Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Tracking: Develop and maintain automated dashboards and scorecards (using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio) to monitor critical KPIs, including:
- Sales & Revenue deep dives (by platform, product, region).
- Advertising Performance (ACoS, RoAS, CPC, Conversion Rate).
- Inventory Health (Sell-Through Rate, Stock-Out Rate, OOS Percentage, particularly for Q-Commerce).
- Customer metrics (Ratings, Review Sentiment, Return Rates).
- Deep Dive Analysis: Conduct comprehensive post-mortem analysis on promotional campaigns, product launches, and seasonal peaks to quantify ROI and identify causal factors for performance variance.
- Forecasting & Modeling: Build predictive models for sales trends, inventory needs, and budget allocation based on historical performance and market factors.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Stakeholder Support: Translate complex analytical findings into clear, non-technical recommendations for the eCommerce Managers, Marketing Teams, and Supply Chain Planners.
- Process Improvement: Recommend improvements to data collection processes and reporting methodologies to increase efficiency and accuracy.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in data science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. Master's degree is a plus
- Minimum of 3+ years in a Data Analyst role, with at least 2 years focused specifically on eCommerce, Retail, or Marketplace data will be added advantage
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
- Advanced SQL proficiency for data extraction and manipulation.
- Expert proficiency in Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas).
- Fluency in at least one visualization tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio) for building interactive dashboards.
- Experience with a statistical programming language (e.g., Python or R) is a significant asset.
- A structured, logical approach to solving complex business problems using data.
- Ability to distill complex data into simple, impactful stories and visualizations.
- A passion for digging into data to uncover hidden trends and insights.
