Data Analyst

Thrifty is a leading brand in UAE's car rental and leasing sector with the largest fleet size and over 50+ rental locations. As pioneers in the industry, we are continuously looking at building innovative solutions for our customers and in order to achieve our ambitious growth plans the company is looking to hire a Data Analyst.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a technically proficient Data Analyst with expertise in both Power BI and Python-based dashboarding tools. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in building interactive and dynamic dashboards using Power BI and Python frameworks like Streamlit, Dash, or Plotly, enabling advanced visualization and seamless data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analytics & Automation

Clean, transform, and analyze datasets using Python (pandas, numpy) and SQL.

Develop scripts to automate reporting, alerts, and data pipelines.

Perform statistical and exploratory data analysis.

Dashboarding & Reporting

Design and develop interactive dashboards using Power BI, including complex DAX formulas, slicers, drill-downs, and conditional formatting.

Create dynamic, responsive dashboards in Python using frameworks such as Streamlit, Dash by Plotly, and Plotly charts.

Embed Python visualizations into Power BI reports where needed.

Ensure visualizations are business-friendly and performance-optimized.

Advanced Analytics (Optional for Data Scientists)

Build machine learning models in Python (scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow).

Deploy predictive analytics into dashboards or standalone apps.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline. Master's degree preferred for Data Scientist role.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

Python (Mandatory)

Data Analysis: pandas, numpy, openpyxl

Visualization: matplotlib, seaborn, plotly

Interactive Dashboards: Streamlit (must-have), Dash (nice to have), Plotly (charts and graphs)

Optional: ML libraries like scikit-learn, statsmodels, or TensorFlow

Power BI (Mandatory)

Building interactive dashboards with filters, slicers, bookmarks, and drill-throughs

DAX: Writing measures, calculated columns, and KPIs

Power Query (M) for data transformation

Data modeling best practices and performance tuning

Other Tools

SQL (strong knowledge required)

Excel (advanced level)

Git/GitHub for version control

APIs and Python integration with external data sources (nice to have)

Experience Level:

Mid-level (25 years): Proven hands-on work creating dashboards in both tools

Certifications (Preferred)

Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst

Python for Data Science or Dashboarding (Coursera/Udemy/Streamlit.io)

Google or AWS Data Analytics Certifications

Soft Skills:

Clear communication and storytelling using data

Ability to balance technical detail with business clarity

Proactive problem-solving and ownership mindset

Agile collaboration with cross-functional teams
