Data Architect

About the job

We are looking for a Data Architect (3–5 years experience) to join our fast-paced, self-managed delivery organization. In this role, you will work closely with data engineers, IT consultants, delivery managers, and cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms and architectures for regional and global clients.

You will play a key role in defining data strategies, enabling data-driven decision-making, and ensuring data quality, governance, and security across enterprise environments.

Location: Saudi Arabia, Riyadh or United Arab Emirates, Dubai

What will you do

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures (data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses).

• Develop and optimize data pipelines (batch and real-time) using modern data engineering tools and frameworks.

• Define data models (conceptual, logical, physical) aligned with business and analytics needs.

• Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, including data quality, lineage, cataloging, and compliance.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data solutions and architectures.

• Integrate data from multiple sources (APIs, databases, streaming platforms, third-party systems).

• Ensure best practices in data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.

• Work closely with data engineers and analysts to enable advanced analytics, BI, and AI use cases.

• Evaluate and recommend modern data technologies, tools, and platforms.

• Contribute to building reusable frameworks, standards, and best practices within the data competency center.

What are we looking for

• University degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

• 3–5 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar roles.

• Strong experience designing data platforms (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouse architectures).

• Hands-on experience with data pipeline development (ETL/ELT) and tools such as Apache Spark, Airflow, or similar.

• Solid knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and database technologies (relational and NoSQL).

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services.

• Understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and metadata management.

• Familiarity with streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka) is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project methodologies.

• Excellent English communication skills required; Arabic communication skills strongly preferred.
