Job Description

About the Role: The position needs high leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of IT professionals, including infrastructure engineers, network administrators, system administrators, and support technicians. Set clear goals and objectives for the team and ensure alignment with the organization's strategic objectives. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment by promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, implement, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, network infrastructure, virtualization platforms, MS365, Azure and cloud services.
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of infrastructure components through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect the organization's data and systems from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity in the event of a system failure or disaster.
  • Lead infrastructure-related projects from initiation to completion, including planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Communicate project status updates, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Provide escalated technical support and troubleshooting assistance for complex infrastructure issues and outages.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of infrastructure configurations, incidents, and resolutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimization of infrastructure operations.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT infrastructure management.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to improve the efficiency, reliability, and security of the organization's IT infrastructure.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and cloud connectivity.
  • Ensure high availability, redundancy, and scalability of network services.
  • Manage servers, storage systems, virtual environments, and data center operations.
  • Supervise regular maintenance, patch management, and firmware updates.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures, policies, and standards to protect organizational assets.
  • Monitor security systems, firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and endpoint protection.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents and breaches, providing detailed root cause analysis.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of network, security, and infrastructure engineers.
  • Set team objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure and security projects.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure and security projects, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Recommend new technologies and solutions to improve performance, reliability, and security.
  • Maintain documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Ensure IT infrastructure and security practices comply with relevant standards (ISO 27001, ISO 20000, NCA cybersecurity guidelines).
  • Support audits and risk assessments.
  • Maintain asset and license management in line with organizational policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 6 – 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, including experience leading a team.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise-level IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage systems, networking, virtualization, MS365 Infra and cloud services.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in infrastructure monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Expertise in implementing and managing security controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), FortiGate , or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate may be preferred.
