Job Summary
The Data Center Engineer is responsible for operating, maintaining, and optimizing the core infrastructure of the private cloud platform. The role ensures compute, storage, and backup systems perform reliably, supporting high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and manage Cisco UCS infrastructure (blade and rack servers)
- Manage Nutanix HCI platforms and AHV clusters
- Administer storage systems across block, file, and object services (Pure Storage)
- Ensure storage performance, capacity planning, and high availability
- Operate and manage backup and data protection platforms (e.g., Veeam)
- Perform backup validation, restore operations, and disaster recovery support
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and infrastructure issues
- Support data center operations across primary and DR sites
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize data center performance
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, IT, or Infrastructure-related field (preferred)
- 610 years in data center infrastructure operations
- Hands-on experience with compute, storage, and backup systems
- Knowledge of storage networking fundamentals (FC, iSCSI)
- Capacity planning and performance troubleshooting experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and proactive in issue resolution
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Cisco UCS (Blade, Rack, Fabric Interconnect)
- Nutanix HCI and AHV platforms
- Enterprise storage systems (block, file, object)
- Backup and recovery platforms (Veeam or similar)
- Storage networking (FC, iSCSI)
- Performance troubleshooting and capacity management
- Proficiency in managing data center infrastructure and monitoring tools
- Familiarity with multi-site and hybrid cloud environments
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Maintain 24x7 availability of compute, storage, and backup infrastructure
- Perform disaster recovery and restore operations effectively
- Optimize infrastructure performance and reliability
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across multiple sites
- Cisco UCS or Data Center certifications
- Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP)
- Pure Storage certifications
- Veeam Certified Engineer
