Job Summary
The Data Center Presales Team Leader is responsible for leading the presales function for enterprise data center and computing solutions. This role supports revenue growth by overseeing solution design, technical positioning, and opportunity management while ensuring alignment between customer requirements, technical feasibility, and commercial objectives. This position combines strong technical expertise with leadership capability, acting as a key interface between Sales, vendors, customers, and internal delivery teams.
Accountability & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Data Center Presales team across enterprise computing and data center opportunities.
- Allocate pre-sales resources across active deals to ensure balanced workload and timely response.
- Review and validate solution designs, BoQs, proposals, and technical documentation before submission.
- Conducting Customer meetings with Sales team, making a presales Activities to support Sales Processes.
- Analyze customer requirements and guide the team in translating them into scalable, end-to-end solutions.
- Design and oversee architecture covering compute, storage, virtualization, cloud, and data center technologies.
- Support strategic and high-value RFPs/RFQs, including complex technical clarifications.
- Conduct executive-level presentations, workshops, and technical positioning sessions.
- Act as the technical escalation point for complex or strategic opportunities.
- Ensure alignment between technical sizing, pricing inputs, and margin objectives.
- Provide technical guidance on pricing, competitive positioning, and solution differentiation.
- Define and support proof-of-concept (PoC) strategies and pilot deployments for key accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors and OEMs.
- Coordinate with vendors for special pricing, demos, certifications, and roadmap updates.
- Stay updated on emerging data center technologies and vendor advancements.
- Collaborate with Sales leadership on opportunity qualification and pipeline forecasting.
- Ensure smooth technical handover to delivery, engineering, and operations teams.
- Ensure proposed solutions are scalable, secure, and operationally feasible.
- Support post-sales teams during transition and early implementation phases when required.
- Mentor and develop presales engineers to enhance technical, commercial, and presentation capabilities.
- Monitor team performance and ensure presales KPIs and turnaround timelines are achieved.
Requirements
1 Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in pre-sales, solution engineering, or enterprise infrastructure roles.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior or leadership position.
- Strong background in enterprise data center, computing, and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Proven experience managing complex enterprise opportunities and large RFPs.
- Strong customer-facing, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working closely with Sales, vendors, and delivery teams.
- Strong commercial awareness in solution sizing, costing, and margin alignment
2 Technical Skills
- Enterprise compute platforms (HPE, Dell, Lenovo, Cisco UCS, etc.).
- Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
- Storage technologies (SAN, NAS, Object Storage).
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP hybrid and multi-cloud environments).
- Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN and basic security concepts).
- Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Ability to design and validate high-level and detailed architectures.
- Understanding of scalability, performance optimization, and high availability designs
3 Certifications (Preferred)
- VMware VCP / VCAP.
- HPE / Dell / Cisco Enterprise Certifications.
- AWS / Azure / GCP Cloud Certifications.
- ITIL Foundation (advantage).
