Data Centre Project Manager (Loyang)

Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team incoordinating and executing our data centre's physical and networkinfrastructure projects. The ideal candidate willpossess versatile knowledge and experience in the different aspect of a datacentre. He/She will be skilled in coordinating with cross-functional teams andappointed contractors in ensuring compliance with the firm's standards andpractises, conducting site surveys, and resolving any technical issues that mayarise during the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industrystandards, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Responsiblefor overall project coordination with internal technology teams, externalcontractors, and Data Center service providers to deliver projects.

Design, Analysis and RequirementGathering

• Work with Data Center serviceproviders to understand whitespace constraints (power / coolings) and come upwith the white space layouts
• Prepare the complete equipment restackplan/phasing plan co-ordinatiing with internal technology teams as well as theDC vendor
• Gather hardware BOM (model, deliverydates, etc.) from different technology teams
• Calculate/design the required rackcount, power consumption, cooling, network panels, cables, etc, and work withother Data Center teams on design and construction
• Work with Sourcing, Real Estate, Legaland Finance teams on RFP's, and provide adequate support for any DC contractamendment/renewals discussions when applicable
  
  

Implementation and Deployment

• Monitor Data Center service providers'progress. Prepare project defect listsand follow-up accordingly
• Travel to sites to review constructionprogress. Work with service providersengineers to provide progress feedback to the Morgan Stanley Technical SME's
• Centralize all installation requestsfor different technology teams, and raise Change Management request. When required, assist in physical racking andstacking of technology equipment (e.g. power and network cableconnections, iLO configuration)
• Coordinate with all technology teamson equipment restack plan
• Work closely with different thirdparty vendors for equipment delivery
• Coordinate and escort Telco carriervendors for circuit installations, and witness testing.
• Coordinate and supervise patching ofnetwork cables, and witness testing
• Centralize and raise all equipmentdecommission and disposals requests. Follow appropriate guideline carefully, and work with disposalteams/vendors on equipment disposal, disk degaussing/shredding and documentdetailed records
• Documentation
• Update equipment inventory managementsystem and rack elevations.
• Provide regular reporting on projectstatus and meeting minutes to regional EDC team
• Obtainand collect all data necessary for management/operation report, includingcapacity management, financial budget forecasts, project spends, vendorcoordination, patching, and project sharepoint sites
  
  

Requirements

• Experience/Knowledge:
• Min5-7 years working experience in Data Center industry's mission critical system,specifically in whitespace design and/or project management.
• Good understanding of data center infrastructure and itsresiliency design (UPS, Generator, CRAC, cabling, containment routes,etc). CDCP is a plus
• Good understanding of technology hardware installationprocedure
• Network cable patchings and testing technique
• Solidexperience with Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Project
• Project Management certification is a plus, such as PMP
• Experience in datahall fitouts,testing and commissioning, handover, close out on Data Center projects
  
  

Basic knowledge of International aswell as local building regulations including Workplace Safety & Health.

Able to work proactively with goodcommunication, analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills, in order to work withdifferent teams across different countrie

Ability to communicate in a clear andunderstandable manner

Abilityto organize and plan multiple projects with different end-users simultaneously.

Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment andunder pressure.
