Role Description The Data Engineer — Insurance Expert is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure tailored to insurance use cases. Day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing ETL pipelines, integrating data from multiple insurance systems, and implementing scalable data warehousing solutions to support analytics and reporting. The role involves modeling insurance-specific data structures, ensuring data quality and integrity, and collaborating with data scientists and business stakeholders to enable pricing, risk assessment, underwriting, and claims analytics. The Data Engineer will also monitor performance, troubleshoot data issues, document data processes, and contribute to best practices for security, compliance, and governance in line with industry standards. Participation in solution design, technology selection, and continuous improvement of data platforms is expected.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Data Engineering and Extract Transform Load (ETL), including building and managing scalable, production-grade data pipelines.
- Candidates should possess solid expertise in Data Modeling and Data Warehousing, with experience designing schemas and storage solutions for analytics and reporting.
- Candidates should possess capabilities in Data Analytics, including working with large datasets to support dashboards, BI tools, and advanced analytical use cases.
- Candidates should possess experience with cloud data platforms and modern data stack tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, or similar technologies).
- Candidates should possess domain knowledge in insurance (such as underwriting, claims, policy administration, pricing, and risk modeling) and familiarity with relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant academic background such as a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is beneficial.
- Experience with AI/ML data pipelines, data governance frameworks, and performance optimization for large-scale data environments is considered an advantage
