GEMS Metropole School is seeking a skilled and motivated
Data Assistant to join our school. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving student success through the effective use of data in schools.
Experience:
- A minimum two years experience in a data assistant role.
- Experience working with Nova-T6 (Essential)
- Experience in working with educational data including pastoral and academic data. (Essential)
- Experience working with Go4Schools (Desirable)
Responsibilities:
- Support the data manager in planning, development, design, organisation and monitoring of the Management Information System (MIS).
- Liaise between leaders, teaching staff and support staff.
- Produce reports for the Academic teams to facilitate a full analysis of the attainment and progress including the results of report grades and public examinations.
- Use reports to spot trends in school data and conduct comparative analyses between schools to support school development leaders
- Support the school in analysing and preparing data for School Inspection purposes, School Evaluation and the School Improvement Plan
- Liaise with Examination Officer regarding external/internal data produced from the examination process.
- Attend relevant professional development courses to update knowledge and skills.
- Keep abreast of new technologies and research through contacts with technology companies, professional organisations, reading of publications, and attendance of professional conferences
- Support the data manager in the following areas:
- Timetable
- Cover
- Examinations
- Attendance
- Rewards and sanctions
Skills Description
- Be a team player, service oriented and professional at all times
- Have logical and analytical thinking skills and possess excellent ICT skills; including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Competent builder of Microsoft Power BI dashboards
- High standards of accuracy through keen attention to detail
- Efficient and organised- ability to work in a time sensitive environment
- Ability to multi-task and cope with peaks of demand
- Organise and prioritise the processing of assessment data in line with the school calendar to ensure the timely flow of relevant information
- Strong communication skills – ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and simple way
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and school personnel
- Attend and present at meetings of the leadership teams and other meetings as required
- Develop constructive relationships and communicate effectively to all levels of users as well as with external agencies/professionals
