aG Resources is looking to connect with Data Governance Analyst on an immediate basis. Lead the development and implementation of a Data Governance framework, including defining logic for all data points, maintaining an organization-wide data dictionary and supporting the assessment of new data requirements.
Extract and analyse investor and market trend data using appropriate data analysis tools.
- Generate reports and visualizations to communicate data-driven insights to Research Analysts, the SLT and relevant stakeholders.
Support in resolution in any outage and identification of root cause problems of any specific data sets.

Support the effective implementation of Data Governance and department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

- Job Specific Responsibilities
- Visualization of Data & Data Extraction
Lead the provision of any data extraction needed to address ad-hoc queries raised by the CEO, Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer and the wider Senior Leadership team.- Leveraging data analytics and visualization tools to best display data and present reports.
Working closely with the Research Analysts, support the development of MIS packs on business performance, market trends, investor segmentation and other relevant topics.
Lead the analysis of the investor and market participant base to develop and maintain investor segments.
- Ensure segmentation logic remains accurate and effective for targeted marketing and research efforts.
Collaborate with business users to define and refine segmentation criteria.
- Definition of Data Points
Definition of data points in terms of validity, calculation logic and measurement metrics to ensure consistency across ADX.- Based on the guidance of the Manager, Strategy & Business Intelligence, lead the establishment of definition or data logic for metrics to be incorporated in the data-warehouse depending on business requirements.
- Maintaining Data Dictionary & Cataloguing of Reports
Maintaining an organization-wide data dictionary on all datapoints tracked internally and externally.- Cataloguing all reports with ADX data that is published for internal and external use, to ensure defined owners and distribution audience.
Validating and ensuring integrity of all data points published from internal reports and external.- Leveraging data governance tools and best practices to ensure effective tracking of data quality.
Working closely with Data Stewarts to resolve data quality issues and facilitate data cleansing exercises.
Working closely with IT and Data Stewarts to troubleshoot and promptly overcome outage in reports or errors in data sets.
- Provide technical support in identifying root cause problems affecting data quality or availability of datapoints and proactively implement solutions.
Developing the policy encapsulating data quality, security, ownership (including identification of data stewards), data access and usage.
Facilitate the aggregation or extraction of data from external sources into existing data architecture of ADX.
- Supporting the efficient structuring of data tables and management of the data warehouse with the integration of internal and external data.
- Supporting Decision Making for Senior Management
Support the Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer and Manager Strategy & Business Intelligence on creation of reports, presentations or memos related to the business intelligence or strategic plans for internal or external stakeholders.
- Departmental Responsibility
This position may be assigned to perform any additional tasks or related duties as may be required by the line manager and in line with business requirements.
- Qualifications and Experience
Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and data modelling skills.
5 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, analytics, or business intelligence preferably in the Financial Services industry.Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Words and Power BI knowledge is mandatory. Added preference on awareness of any other related data analysis, data visualization or modelling applications.*
