Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to design, implement, and operationalize enterprise-wide data governance initiatives using the Talend Data Fabric platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data quality, metadata management, lineage, compliance, and stakeholder engagement, with hands-on experience in Talend governance tools.
This is a critical onsite role based in Sharjah, UAE, supporting business-critical data governance and compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and operationalize the enterprise data governance framework using the Talend stack.
- Design and implement data governance policies, standards, and stewardship workflows.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Talend Data Catalog (TDC) for metadata harvesting, classification, and data lineage.
- Build and manage Talend Data Quality (TDQ) jobs for:
- Data profiling
- Rule definition and validation
- Data cleansing and exception handling
- Define and monitor data quality KPIs, metrics, and scorecards, and report trends to stakeholders.
- Establish and enforce data stewardship models across business domains.
- Collaborate closely with ETL, BI, and application teams to embed governance controls into data pipelines.
- Ensure adherence to data privacy and compliance standards (GDPR, CCPA, PII handling).
- Support data access, retention, and usage policies aligned with regulatory and business requirements.
- Communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders to drive governance adoption.

- Deep understanding of:
- Data lineage and metadata management
- Data cataloging and stewardship models
- Data governance frameworks and best practices
- Data Quality expertise:
- Rule definition
- Profiling and cleansing
- Continuous monitoring
- Strong SQL skills with SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
- Exposure to cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Knowledge of data privacy and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, PII)
- Basic understanding of API integrations
