Job Description

We are looking for aData Managerto oversee and manage the organization's data collection, storage, and analysis activities. The Data Manager will be responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, accessible, and used efficiently across various departments. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in data management and analytics, as well as excellent leadership abilities to manage data teams and collaborate with business units to ensure the successful use of data in driving business decision-making.

Data Management & Strategy

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of data management strategies to ensure the effective storage, accessibility, and quality of data across the organization.
  • Develop and enforce data management policies and best practices to ensure data accuracy, security, and consistency.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of data governance frameworks to ensure proper data stewardship, data quality, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Define and manage the organization's data architecture, ensuring it supports the business's analytical needs and scalability.

Data Collection, Storage & Maintenance

  • Manage the implementation of data collection processes and data storage systems, ensuring that data is properly captured and stored in structured, scalable databases.
  • Ensure the integrity and quality of data stored across various systems and data warehouses, coordinating regular audits and data cleansing efforts.
  • Oversee the management of databases, data lakes, and data warehouses to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Ensure that data pipelines and workflows are efficient, timely, and scalable.

Data Quality Assurance

  • Establish and manage processes to continuously monitor data quality, identify discrepancies, and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for data quality and ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve data issues and optimize processes to improve data quality.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and manage the data team, including data analysts, data engineers, and other data professionals.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members, ensuring their skills stay up to date with industry trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, operations, and finance, to understand their data needs and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within the organization, promoting the importance of data quality and analytics to stakeholders at all levels.

Data Integration & Analysis

  • Oversee the integration of data from various internal and external sources to create a cohesive and comprehensive view of organizational data.
  • Work closely with business intelligence teams to ensure that data is appropriately analyzed, visualized, and presented for business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to develop advanced analytics, machine learning models, and other data-driven solutions.

Compliance & Security

  • Ensure that data management practices comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and security requirements, including data privacy laws and industry standards.
  • Work with security teams to implement access controls, encryption, and other measures to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Provide guidance on data privacy and compliance issues, ensuring that all data handling processes are aligned with industry best practices.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on data management performance, data quality, and the overall health of data systems.
  • Present data-related insights, issues, and recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that stakeholders are regularly updated on data initiatives, project progress, and outcomes.

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • 57 years of experience in data management, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience with data management systems, databases, and data integration platforms.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with different business units to leverage data for decision-making.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and compliance best practices.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or similar data management certifications.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or similar data privacy certifications.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud data platforms or database technologies .

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in SQL, data management tools, and database technologies).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and analytics platforms .
  • Experience with data integration tools and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence tools.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations and security protocols.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on optimizing data management processes.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data-related concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to handle changing business needs and requirements.
