Ideal candidate for this role is an experienced Data Migration Engineer with strong expertise in migrating enterprise data platforms from SQL Server and Cloudera to GCP, ensuring seamless, secure, and efficient data transitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead migration planning, assessment, and execution from SQL Server and Cloudera to GCP.
- Design and implement data migration pipelines using GCP Data Transfer Service and Dataflow.
- Develop data validation and reconciliation frameworks for pre- and post-migration accuracy.
- Manage cutover planning, rollback strategies, and go-live activities.
- Document data mappings, migration strategies, and operational runbooks.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise data migration projects.
- Proven experience migrating from SQL Server (SSIS, T-SQL) and Cloudera (Hive, HDFS, Impala) to GCP.
- Strong expertise in BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Data Transfer Service.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python scripting for automation.
