The Data Security Consultant plays a pivotal, hands-on technical role responsible for deploying, implementing, and optimizing enterprise data security and protection solutions across customer environments. The consultant acts as a central liaison generating revenue in coordination with sales, interfacing directly with customers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align security technologies with client compliance and operational requirements.
Main tasks include specifically:
- Execute end-to-end implementation, deployment, integration, and optimization of enterprise Data Security Fabric (DSF), Database Activity Monitoring (DAM), and Data Risk Analytics solutions following approved Statements of Work (SoW).
- Lead solution planning, architecture, and deployment across enterprise platforms-including Database Discovery & Classification, Key & Certificate Management, Encryption, SIEM integration, and Disaster Recovery configurations.
- Produce detailed technical design guides, architecture documentation, and operational runbooks, while conducting structured knowledge transfer and operational handover sessions for client technical teams.
- Provide technical troubleshooting, performance tuning, health checks, and upgrades across heterogeneous database, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.
Skill:
- Deep technical expertise in enterprise Data Security Fabric (DSF), Database Activity Monitoring (DAM), Data Risk Analytics, and Key/Certificate Management lifecycle.
- Hands-on proficiency across major database platforms (Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, IBM Db2, SAP HANA, MongoDB), cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and OS platforms (Linux, Windows Server).
- Strong working knowledge of enterprise networking, PKI, encryption protocols, SIEM/ticketing integrations, and scripting/automation tools (Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, Ansible).
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and technical documentation skills, with a strong can-do attitude under tight deadlines.
Required experience:
- Showcases minimum 5-8 years of demonstrated experience in delivering Professional Services or technical implementation projects in enterprise environments.
- Has at least an international leadership mandate of 2+ years in client-facing technical delivery roles.
- Has led transformation projects (i.e., deploying enterprise data security, encryption, and activity monitoring architectures across multi-cloud and hybrid environments).
- Brings experience in software upgrades, migrations, platform integrations, performance tuning, and technical troubleshooting under formal SoWs.
Required education:
- Undergraduate degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Computer Science, Information Services, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or similar.
- MSc, MBA, or relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, or Data Security Platform Certifications) preferred.
