Job Description

Role Overview

The Data Security Engineer is responsible for protecting the organization's sensitive and confidential data by implementing, operating, and maintaining data security controls. The role focuses on Data Loss Prevention (DLP), data encryption, information protection, and monitoring data access and usage across endpoints, applications, and databases.

The engineer will work closely with IT, SOC, and cybersecurity teams to prevent data leakage, investigate data security incidents, and ensure data handling aligns with security policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, investigate, and respond to Data Loss Prevention (DLP) alerts and incidents
  • Administer and support endpoint and disk encryption solutions
  • Implement, maintain, and tune data protection policies and rules
  • Perform root cause analysis of data security incidents and recommend improvements
  • Support data classification and information protection initiatives
  • Manage encryption, decryption, and secure handling of sensitive data
  • Support PKI and certificate‑related activities, including issuance, renewal, and revocation
  • Monitor data access and data movement across endpoints and databases
  • Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks
  • Coordinate with IT and security teams on data security requests, incidents, and user escalations

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands‑on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions
  • Knowledge of endpoint and disk encryption technologies (e.g., BitLocker)
  • Strong understanding of data protection and secure data handling principles
  • Exposure to PKI, certificates, and encryption concepts
  • Experience with incident investigation, alert analysis, and security monitoring
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and best practices
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Arabic is mandatory for this role

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in data security or cybersecurity roles
  • Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, or vendor‑specific DLP certifications are a plus
