Role Overview

The DDoS Specialist is responsible for advanced monitoring, real‑time attack mitigation, incident response, and operational governance within a high‑availability security environment. The role requires strong SOC/MSS experience, deep understanding of DDoS attack vectors, and the ability to lead containment and recovery during critical events.

This position is strictly open to Emirati Nationals , supporting national cybersecurity capability development.

Key Responsibilities

  • SOC Operations — Manage daily SOC/MSS operations, ensuring monitoring quality and SLA adherence.
  • Incident Response — Lead containment, eradication, and recovery for DDoS and related security incidents.
  • Threat Hunting — Conduct proactive hunts for anomalous traffic, botnet activity, and early attack indicators.
  • Security Monitoring — Detect, triage, and escalate security incidents with accuracy and speed.
  • Root Cause Analysis — Support forensic investigations and produce detailed RCA documentation.
  • SLA Compliance — Ensure all operational activities meet contractual SLAs and governance standards.
  • Customer Reporting — Deliver clear incident summaries, dashboards, and communication updates.
  • Resource Management — Oversee shift planning, workload distribution, and analyst readiness.
  • Process Optimization — Enhance SOC workflows, runbooks, and escalation procedures.
  • Team Escalation — Serve as the primary escalation point for complex incidents and operational blockers.

Requirements Required Skills & Experience

  • Must be Emirati National.
  • 3–6 years of hands‑on experience in SOC/MSS operations, incident response, or DDoS mitigation.
  • Strong understanding of DDoS attack types (volumetric, protocol, application‑layer).
  • Experience with DDoS mitigation platforms (Arbor, Radware, Cloudflare, Akamai, F5).
  • Proficiency in traffic analysis , packet inspection, and anomaly detection.
  • Solid background in SIEM , log analysis, and monitoring technologies.
  • Ability to lead high‑pressure incident response scenarios.
  • Familiarity with forensics , evidence handling, and RCA documentation.
  • Strong communication skills for customer‑facing reporting and escalation.
  • Understanding of network protocols , routing, firewalls, and load balancers.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in ISP‑level DDoS mitigation or large‑scale enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of automation , SOAR workflows, and runbook development.
  • Exposure to cloud security and distributed infrastructure.
  • Relevant certifications:
    • CEH
    • Security+
    • CySA+
    • CCNA/CCNP Security
    • Vendor‑specific DDoS mitigation certifications
Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity , Computer Science , Information Security , Network Engineering , or a related field.
  • Master's degree is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Equivalent military or government cybersecurity training may be considered for exceptional Emirati candidates.
